Week 6 - Program for Online Teaching

Week 6: Internet Skills and Tools

Week 6 begins tomorrow ie Oct 7.  This week is mainly about Internet , web 2.0 skills and Tools These skills are one of my strength area. I started testing my skills with the quiz , Voila !
I scored 100% , superfun to take this quiz.

I encourage all participants to take this quiz, it is an energizer. This week activities seem  a cakewalk for me and I am glad I would be able to utilize time to catch up to do activities from previous weeks. I have also added Pedagogy First feed to my Google Reader. I find RSS a pretty smart way to aggregate articles , resources on to one place so that I don't have to visit 10 different sites and I get to read articles of interest on one page through  Google reader. As far as finding & embedding video activity is concerned , I would like to share a video by George Siemens , I am influenced by his thoughts on open education, connectivism . I had the opportunity to meet and hear him in person during one of the Education conference organized this year in India.

Hello POT Participants !

Hello Everyone,

I am bit late to the program as I was enrolled last year too but did not complete the certification. I bit more than what I could chew ie enrolled in 2 Certifications at same time along with my regular full time job at IBM.   However, I am pleased to share I have successfully completed Executive Program in Human Resource Management from one of the premier business schools in India ie IIM- Calcutta. Now this year, I can completely focus on Program for Online Teaching. Very kind of Lisa to include me to the program at this stage as I intend to make up for missed activities during couple of weeks. My Mom has been a teacher for more than 25 years and retired as Vice- Principal .I grew up in an environment where most emphasis is placed on Education, Learning & Personal Growth. hence the keen interest in Learning, Teaching, Education. For my further Introduction, please read my blog post from previous year

Regards,
Ruchi
